We are looking for exceptional software engineers to join our small team working in emerging areas of digital media. This position could be based in either our Silicon Valley or Los Angeles office, and requires a moderate amount of travel.
Description
As our lead expert on security, you will apply your knowledge and interest in content and network security to fund research,
guide product development at our partners, evaluate new products and partner with startups related to digital media.
You love to tinker and have a vast knowledge of multiple technologies including software, security, codecs, media formats, consumer electronics and network infrastructure. You appreciate the importance of privacy and usability to consumers and are comfortable evaluating
technologies on their market and business viability. You can wax on about the shortcomings of any technology, but can also see the power and potential of each.
Responsibilities
Choose key technologies to improve the way consumers enjoy
and studios distribute content.
Evaluate project ideas for both technical merit and commercial
potential.
Assess capabilities and potential of research groups and
startup teams.
Follow trends and developments in content and network
security.
Consult with studio technical staff on new technologies.
Predict the future and identify emerging areas for new
projects.
Requirements
MS or PhD (preferred) in Computer Science or Mathematics.
Deep and broad knowledge of content and network security.
10 or more years experience in engineering and product
development related to security.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A dynamic personality, intense curiosity and ability to
think differently.
Desired Experience
Experience performing technical due diligence and evaluating
intellectual property and patents.
Experience designing, building or cracking Digital Rights

but can also see the power and potential of each.
